Poem: I'm not fond of asking

I won't make time
for frozen minds
if you try and pull my strings,
because I'll lie
and run away
to none-existent better things.

And don't heap this
praise on me,
even if you think I need it,
because I'd lie down
for my cause
if I thought that you'd believe it.

And you take time
out of your life,
to watch me hurt myself,
but I take pride in
who I am,
and I won't ask for you to help.

Because I know
that's what you want -
You want me to give in.
But I'm stronger
than you think I am.
I've grown some thicker skin.

I'm not saying it's your fault,
although you could have done some more.
And one day
I hope I love you.
But never as before.

  1. At least you've stopped whining! So who is this about?
Either way I love it - are you finally fighting back Card!?

    1. Yeah watch out! I'm fighting back with obscure, indirect poetry...I bet they're scared! And thanks :)
